Concert Career & Solo Highlights
Awarded at international competitions like "Joaquín Rodrigo" (Madrid) and "Primer Palau" (Barcelona), José Manuel has performed in major auditoriums across Europe, America, and Asia. As a soloist, he has appeared with renowned orchestras such as the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra and the Real Filharmonía de Galicia. A specialist in contemporary music, he premiered the revised version of Antón García Abril’s “Poemario,” working closely with the composer.

Chamber Music & Projects
Chamber music is at the heart of his artistic identity. He was a founding member of the “Música en Compostela” String Quartet, performing alongside legends like Agustín León Ara. His stable duo with guitarist Pedro Mateo led to the world premiere recording of Ferdinand Rebay’s sonatas (Eudora Records), receiving the prestigious "Opus d'Or." He has also performed the complete cycle of Beethoven’s 10 Violin Sonatas.

Orchestral Leadership
With a background in the elite Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, José Manuel has extensive experience as a guest concertmaster for various ensembles, including the Real Filharmonía de Galicia and the Ciutat d'Eivissa Symphony Orchestra.

Education & Pedagogy
Born in Spain, he was trained in the Russian and European traditions by Gayané Pogossova, Agustín León Ara, and Maighread McCrann. His time in Vienna deeply shaped his interpretation of the Classical period. As a sought-after pedagogue, he has taught at institutions and universities in Leipzig, Münster, Louisiana, and the ESMUC (Barcelona).
